The Region

Spring Cottage is just outside Blackawton, a peaceful village that dates back to the 15th century. You’ll find all the supplies you need in there as well as a couple of friendly country pubs – a welcome rest stop for many a walker.

Within walking distance from the cottage is the small village of Blackawton. Served by two pubs – The George and The Normandy Arms – both inviting village locals with the latter sporting a gourmet restaurant with menus created by Roger Hawkshaw, formerly of the renowned Michelin-starred ‘New Angel’.

Close by is Dartmouth – the Jewel of the South Hams. Ancient narrow streets house boutique shops, art galleries & delicatessens. A cobbled market place features colourful stalls and Farmers markets supplying local produce – used by the gourmet restaurants, pubs & cafes.

Any avid golfers will be pleased to know Dartmouth Golf and Country Club is approximately two miles away and offers concessionary rates for
Sheplegh Court guests.

The beautiful beach at Blackpool Sands is only three miles away and Kingsbridge, Salcombe and Totnes are all close by.
